I am going to start scuba diving as a hobby and am looking to get some opinions on what type of scuba diving equipment to buy.
UPDATE!!! I’m looking at this mainly as a hobby but also i’m looking at joining the local dive team as i’m in Law Enforcement. If that makes a difference. Thanks

Personally I would rent some of your equipment from a reputable dive shop. They can help you pick out correct sizes and suggest items for the specific types of dives you do.

Once you try some of the equipment out you’ll have a better idea of the features you want on your own things.

I just purchased my own BC, regulator, computer, mask, fins, and wetsuit. Actually I am on my 2nd BC because I found one with a feature I liked a lot better than the first I purchased. Since the first one was still new, the dive shop took it back. Slick!

I am a healthy 17 year old female athlete. I recently tore my left ACL and will be recieving surgery. I have a scuba trip planned this summer in Hawaii. How long until I can go scuba diving after my surgery? I have already torn my ACL, PCL, and miniscus on my right knee and rocked physical therapy (planning to rock it again) but didn’t scuba at the time so I dont remember how long until I would be able to.
